The girls began giving us kisses a while ago, but abstained from kissing each other. Over the past few weeks, we've witnessed their physical affection (and sometimes physical disaffection) for each other has been on the rise. The girls will rub each others heads or backs, we even caught Lucy throwing her arm around Sage's shoulder the other day. Then last night they were fighting colds so I had them in the same crib to facilitate rubbing each of their heads and backs simultaneously (I didn't want to rock them as they've gotten too big to transfer both back to their cribs without waking them both and Brian was at the store). They were each standing at the side leaning against me and the crib railing. Unprompted, they kissed. And then they kissed again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again - easily a few dozen times. The first few were darling, but after a while, it was just a bit...excessive.
I have yet to see unprompted kissing since then, but when asked, they do not hesitate to plant one on the other. Lucy perhaps a bit more enthusiastically than Sage.

LOVE IT! So darling--just wait though--hate to say it, but first comes kissing, next comes biting....the joys multiply!
ReplyDeleteAh, Aimee. You always give me so much to look forward to! Big girl beds, ballet recitals, Christmas shows, parent-teacher conferences. Thanks to you, however, I always feel prepared for what's coming down the pike and know that there is humor to be found in it...somewhere.
