It's Beginning to Feel a Bit Like Christmas

With the first snow fall (and having finished raking leaves only the day before), the girls enthusiastically went out to explore the fluffy white stuff.  After some hot cocoa (the girls approved), we turned on Christmas carols and set about trimming the house.

Unsure what to expect from the girls, we left our most fragile and beloved ornaments in their boxes to be brought out another year.  We also dug out Jen's college mini-tree and mini-decorations so the girls could have a tree of their own to touch and play with as they pleased.  In the end, we needn't have worried.  The girls were delighted by the shiny red and silver "Balls!" on the big tree, but would only gently touch the low hanging ornaments which were carefully selected for their touchability.

The girls undaunted by the white fluffy stuff.

Sage, consistent with last year, loves to be pulled in the sled.

I appreciate the good work out pulling Lucy up and down the icy hill.

Lucy warms up to sledding this winter.

The girls decorate their very own tree (it's hard to see here, but note the big bruise on Sage's right cheek from an unfortunate collision in the garage between her cheek and a cabinet corner).
