A Community Celebration

Bringing our girls into this world and getting them home was a true community effort. No celebration of the girls' lives would be complete without our many friends at Community North Hospital (blog of last year's celebration viewable here.)

So on the night before the girls' second birthday, we baked and decorated many, many kitty cat cookies.
Lucy decorating cookies (and holding onto bubble wand which is part of a birthday gift she prematurely discovered).
Sage decorates with "lellow" icing.
Lucy and Sage hard at work.
Examples of some very artistic, shall we say, avante garde, kitty cat cookies.
Then on the morning of the girls' birthday, we began deliveries to some extraordinary nurses, doctors, sonographers, respiratory techs and some of the best friends that two premature little girls could ever have.

The girls confidently strut through the lobby of Community North as if they own the place.
Auntie Mere, one of our primary nurses (look out for her in a big blog come November when Sage and Lucy make their flower girl debut when Auntie Mere marries Uncle Daniel) with Little Lu.

Auntie Mere and Sage share a giggle.
Angie and Brenda at MFM can't believe Button and Snap are the big girls who walked in to greet them.
On Saturday, we returned to visit old friends working the weekend shift.
Sage engages beloved primary nurse Jan in some deep conversation.
Nola absolutely enchants two little bookworms.

Apparently Auntie Mere works ALL THE TIME as she was around for more Lucy squeezes.

Lucy gives Star a fist bump in thanks for all those good O's.

The girls march out of Community North, confident that they'll be back with more cookies next year.
