I love bonfires. I love sitting around them, letting the conversation get deep as the flames die down. I love singing songs that are passed down from generation to generation. So when I found myself saying to friends over and over again this summer that we needed to get together soon, I decided it was time to throw a bonfire.
We invited our preschool-aged friends, recommended no costumes (open flame plus preschoolers = bad combination), and bought some dogs and marshmallows. Friends brought other dishes (including these awesome eyeball cake pops!) The result was a awesome, laid back evening with friends.
Can't wait to do it again next year...and I'll look forward to the year when kids will be old enough that we can stay up late enough to sing songs and tell stories around the bonfire.
