Global warming is definitely shifting our mild Midwest weather patterns...and not for the better. Four inches of ice coating the driveway for over 10 days combined with some head/chest colds kept us all indoors for a long, long, long time. Hooray for all the work we did last spring and summer in the basement as we were able to set up an indoor playground and art center to keep the girls occupied for hours. Thanks to Grammy and Popa for equipping the art center and Uncle Ben and Lara and the Arnold family for coming over to play.

| Good college friends, Catherine and Mike Arnold, came up from Louisville with their delightful girls, Elizabeth and Caroline, for a playdate. Coloring seems to cross all age barriers. |
In the video, note the fine motor skills as the girls take caps on and off on markers, the groovy little dances going on, and the self-application of make-up by Lucy.
