Apple Picking 2010

If it worked last year with babies, it's sure to be a hit this year with toddlers.  And that is how a tradition begins.  So on an abnormally warm and gorgeous blue-skied autumn day, we headed out to the orchard to pick some apples.  While last year the girls were good sports in their stroller, this time they wanted to be part of the action...the eating action, that is.
Sage finds a good apple to sink her teeth into.

Sage discovers that location is everything and plops herself down next to some low-hanging fruit.

The very trees were Sage and Lucy sized.

Sage continues to sample the goods.

Lucy enjoys a moment in the sun.
Sage contemplates the apple

And wonders if its good form to eat apples in each hand.

Sage ultimately concludes that orchard ettiquette is pretty lax so she may as well go for it.

Lucy contemplates her half eaten apple.

Having satiated their appetites, the girls get onto the business at hand, collecting apples.

Sage demonstrates proper apple carrying form.

Lucy's form looks good...but for the large bite taken from the apple in hand.

We like dem apples.

By this point, we're just thankful that no one thought to weigh Sage on the way in.

Not a bad way to spend a warm and sunny autumn afternoon.  Next year we hope to make it earlier in the season.

Our very silly Lucy

Ready to head out...and we're still eating apples.
